The NBC Tower’s anchor tenant, ComPsych Corp., has renewed and expanded its U.S. headquarters lease to 128,381 square feet at the iconic, 37-story, 850,000-square foot, Class A office tower.
ComPsych, founded by Chicago entrepreneur Richard Chaifetz, the company’s chairman and CEO, a provider of employee assistance programs. The company has signed a long-term extension of its lease for 104,910 on floors 10 through 13 and is also expanding by 23,471 square feet, taking the entire 14th floor.
Jones Lang LaSalle’s Melissa Rubenstein and Gary Kostecki completed the transaction on behalf of the building’s owners, Metropolis Investment Holdings Inc., while Todd Lippman and James Whalen of CBRE represented ComPsych. The transaction was the third-largest to be completed in the Chicago CBD so far this year.
“It is always extremely gratifying for a building owner when a long-time tenant of the global reputation of ComPsych affirms its long-term commitment to the building,” said Tom Prescott, president of Metropolis Investment Holdings. “It’s a true testament to our leasing and management teams as well as the truly world-class asset that we have in NBC Tower.”
Designed by Skidmore Owings & Merrill and completed in 1989, the art deco style building features office floor plates ranging in size from 18,000 to 30,000 square feet.
