Construction firm Graycor begins moving into its new Indiana operations center

Graycor Companies has completed and begun moving into its new Northwest Indiana operations center in Portage, Ind.

The facility will provide management and monitoring systems for heavy industrial operations and industrial maintenance services for Graycor subsidiaries Graycor Industrial Constructors Inc. (Graycor Industrial) and Graycor Blasting Company Inc. (Graycor Blasting). The new center also houses fabrication and equipment servicing capabilities.

“We have a rich history in Northwest Indiana with many long-term clients, some who go back to our founding in the 1920s,” said Tom Muchesko, senior vice president, Graycor Industrial. “The Northwest Indiana operation center’s proximity to key resources and business partners will allow us to make significant improvements in service and efficiency for customers in the region and beyond.”

With many long-term industrial clients in Northwest Indiana, Graycor Industrial and Graycor Blasting have demonstrated a strong commitment to the region, completing numerous projects for local steel mills, power plants and process facilities for clients such as ArcelorMittal, BP, Northern Indiana Public Service Co., Praxair and U.S. Steel.

In addition, Graycor Construction Company Inc., the commercial subsidiary of the Graycor Companies, has built several facilities in Northwest Indiana for clients such as Bass Pro Shops and Kerasotes Theatres (now AMC Theatres).
