Real estate developer Joseph Freed and Associates LLC has announced that DSW Shoe Warehouse, Inc., has signed a lease for 26,000 square feet at the Sullivan Center on State Street in downtown Chicago.
DSW will occupy 5,000 square feet of space on the first floor of the Sullivan Center just across from the main floor of the Target store announced earlier this year and 21,000 square feet on the lower level of the Center.
Larry Freed, president of Joseph Freed and Associates LLC announced in a release that “DSW adds an important dimension to the shopping experience on State Street and is an exciting neighbor for the Target store planned for the project. With the DSW lease, approximately 77 percent of the 195,000 square feet of retail space at the Sullivan Center is now under lease and over 82 percent of the 745,000 square feet of office space in the Center is also under lease.”
In addition to Target and DSW, tenants at the Sullivan Center include Walgreens e-commerce department, The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, The Illinois Department of Employment Security, Gensler (architecture firm) and the corporate headquarters of Joseph Freed and Associates LLC.
DSW plans to open in the Spring, 2012.
