Jones Lang LaSalle and Gensler are multiple winners at Commercial Real Estate Awards

Jones Lang LaSalle and Gensler both captured two awards at the 23rd annual Chicago Commercial Real Estate Awards dinner at the Hyatt Regency Chicago last night.

Gensler earned honors for Interior Design Firm of the Year and Architect of the Year. Jones Lang LaSalle entered the night with a total of eight nominations and managed to score in the categories of Innovative Deal of the Year, for its work with Navistar Inc., and Project Manager of the Year.

The event was once again attended by hundreds of commercial real estate professionals, supporting the cause of the Greater Chicago Food Depository. The event reportedly raised more than $800,000.

In a sobering moment during an otherwise festive evening, Kate Maehr, chief executive officer of the GCFD, said that the money donated this year was especially timely as November of 2010 saw the largest number of monthly applicants for food services in the organization’s history. While industry has undoubtedly suffered in the recession, many individual Chicagoans are clearly feeling the pain.

Property Management Company of the Year

Redevelopment of the Year
208 S. LaSalle Street Office Renovation and JW Marriott, The Prime Group, Inc.

Retail Broker of the Year (tie)
Joseph Parrott and Jim Sakanich, CB Richard Ellis
