Michael Havdala, senior vice president of the Retail Brokerage division, HSA Commercial Real Estate, represented the current tenant of 1910 North Clybourn Avenue, Chicago, in a 16,342-square-foot sublease with Thomasville Furniture.

Thomasville Furniture will occupy the ground-level of the property, located just north of the intersection of Clybourn Avenue and Kenmore Avenue in Lincoln Park’s “North and Clybourn” trade area. The upper three levels of the building are occupied by The Lock Up Storage Centers. The building has a surface parking lot for almost 50 vehicles, an uncommon amenity in the urban retail environment.

“The ‘North and Clybourn’ trade area is a priority market for furniture and soft goods retailers in Chicago,” said Michael Havdala. “These types of markets are the first to show positive absorption as economic conditions improve—especially in high-visibility spaces.”

Meredith Oliver, principal, of Metro Commercial Real Estate represented Thomasville Furniture in the transaction.
