It’s easy to feel good about a commercial transaction when it results in not only the saving but the addition of jobs. That’s just what happened when CBRE Indianapolis represented a manufacturer in one of Indianapolis’ suburbs.

Tom Cooler of CBRE Indianapolis and Mike McLaughlin of CBRE Chicago recently teamed up to represent Stanley Black & Decker as it negotiated the terms of its 10-year industrial lease of 219,968 square feet in Greenfield, Ind.

Stanley consolidated two plants — one in Connecticut and one in Shelbyville, Ind. — into a modern manufacturing facility in Greenfield. Stanley now plans to create an additional 80 jobs at the plant by 2012.

The new facility will manufacture industrial fasteners, a variety of steel fasteners and industrial application equipment.

Mark Writt, of CBRE Indianapolis, also represented the landlord, Cabot II-IN1B02, LLC, in the transaction.
