The top women of Chicago’s commercial real estate scene will be recognized at an awards luncheon on Wednesday, September 8 at the University Club of Chicago. The event is the Third Annual Award Program sponsored by the Illinois Real Estate Journal in conjunction with Commercial Real Estate Women CREW Chicago (CREW).

“It is appropriate in an industry often looked at as being male dominated that we recognize the role of women in the industry,” said Michael Millar from Real Estate Communications Group, one of the founding sponsors of the event. “The event brings together top professionals–men and women–in the industry for networking, a keynote presentation and the award recognition segment.”

According to event organizers, more than 20 nominees are being considered for awards in five categories–Impact, Community Service, Silver Apple, Bright Horizon and Career Achievement.

The nominees are:

Bright Horizon – Deanna Arce, Shepard Schwartz & Harris LLP; Meredith O’Connor, Jones Lang LaSalle.

Crystal Apple – Stacey Kruger Birndorf, Transwestern; Betty Casties, Hyatt Center; Nina J. Fain; Chicago Economic Development Institute; Jan Fiola, Bedford Coast Segregation; Jena Hollensteiner, CB Richard Ellis.

Community Service – Pat Turnbull, Kayhan International; Kelly Martincin, HAWORTH

Career Achievement – Alexandra Cole, Perkins Coie LLP; Mary Margaret Cowhey, Land and Lakes Development Co.; Mary K. Fuller, Shepard Schwartz & Harris LLP; Janet Johnson, Schiff Hardin LLP; Vivian Mumaw , Jones Lang LaSalle; Andrea Saewitz, JF McKinney & Assoc.; Ewa Weir, Jones Lang LaSalle.

ImPact – Sara Hays, Wrightwood Capital; Molly Kelly, Jones Lang LaSalle; Estella Kiser, Kiser Group; Kellie Sanders, Village Green.

Before the award winners are announced, Lynn Reich, SIOR, an executive vice president with Colliers International in Chicago, will give a keynote address. Reich is in the final months of serving as national president of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors. Throughout a career that spans more than three decades, Reich has been one of the industry’s top industrial brokers, completing transactions in Chicago and across the country, and an active member of a variety of organizations, including CREW.

In her keynote presentation Reich is expected to talk about the importance of being actively involved in the industry and the benefits of that involvement.

The Third Annual Awards Luncheon begins with registration and networking at 11 am. Individual tickets for the event are $95 per person; tables of ten can be purchased at the rate of $890. Registration for and information about the event is available at www.rejournals.com\conferences or by calling Debbie DeWolf at 312-644-7800.
