S.M. Wilson & Co. wraps up construction of high-end retailer in St. Louis

St. Louis-based S. M. Wilson & Co. recently completed construction of the new $14 million Von Maur store at The Meadows in Lake Saint Louis, Mo.
The 124,000-square-foot department store is the first Missouri location for Von Maur, a high-end retailer. A grand opening is scheduled for Sept. 18.
The design of the store is similar to existing Von Maur locations, providing customers with an open, residential feel to enhance their shopping experience. The two-story building is distinguished by a center court clerestory and high-end exterior finishes, including brick, stone and an insulated finishing system façade.
S. M. Wilson provided general contracting services on the project, which began in June of 2009. The architect on the project is Shive Hattery, Inc.
