Bernard Financial, through Minnesota-based correspondent, originates $13 million loan for Michigan apartments

Southfield, Mich.-based Bernard Financial Group recently arranged a $13-million loan for the Westlake Apartments in Van Buren Township, Mich.

The 510-unit apartment complex boasts 446,510 square feet of space that is available for rent. Occidental Development, LLC was the borrower in the transaction. Dennis Bernard and Kevin Kovachevich from Bernard Financial originated the loan.

Minnesota Mutual Life Insurance Company, a correspondent of Bernard Financial Group, was the lender on the transaction.
