Chicago’s RMK Management adds luxury apartment development in Indiana to portfolio

Chicago-based RMK Management Corp. recently added Prairie Point Apartments, a complex of 300 luxury apartment homes in Merrillville, Ind., to its management portfolio.
The company now oversees all aspects of leasing, maintenance and resident relations for the community. Prairie Point Apartments was developed and is owned by Merrillville, Ind.-based SJBZ Development.
Prairie Point offers one-, one-plus-den and two-bedroom apartment homes that range in size from 753 square feet to 1,184 square feet. Each residence includes a private entrance; full-sized, in-unit washer and dryer; a private patio or balcony; walk-in closets; central air conditioning; and optional attached garage parking. Additionally, two-bedroom apartments feature a deluxe master bath with a soaking tub and a dual-bowl vanity. Pet-friendly apartments are available, and rents range from $832 to $1,400 per month.
Prairie Point offers a clubhouse with a fireplace and kitchen area, Olympic-sized outdoor swimming pool complete with lap lanes, a sundeck, volleyball courts, a playground and a business center. There is also on-site, 24-hour management and a receiving room for packages. And as an RMK-managed community, residents will also enjoy periodic community events, such as pizza nights and wine-and-cheese parties.
