Minnesota brokers pick up honors during MNCAR event

No one would argue that 2009 wasn’t a difficult year for commercial real estate professionals. But that doesn’t mean that every commercial broker suffered a down year.

Several commmercial real estate professionals in Minnesota excelled in 2009. And they recently picked up awards for their efforts.

The Minnesota Commercial Association of REALTORS recently held its 2009 awards ceremony. During the event, it honored those commercial professionals throughout the state who excelled in what was certainly a difficult year.

Dan Gleason, from NorthMarq, earned the Broker of the Year award, while Steve Shepherd, from Welsh Companies picked up the Rising Start of the Year honor.

Target Corporation earned the Office Transaction of the Year award, along with the principals involved in the company’s transaction: Jon Dahl, David Sternberg and Paul Mitchell, from Brookfield Properties; and Shannon Reilly, Peter Kitchak and Jessie Quinn, from Keewaydin Real Estate Advisors.

Michael Foods Corporation earned the Industrial Transaction of the Year award for The Mammoth Building in Chaska, Minn. Joe Smith, from Steiner Development, and TaTonka Real Estate Advisors made this deal happen.

The Retail Transaction of the Year honor went to ShowPlace ICON Theatre at The Shops at West End in St. Louis Park, Minn. Ned Rukavina, with NorthMarq, and Darryle Henry with Duke Realty Corporation worked on this deal.

The Investment Transaction of the Year honor went to Riverview at Upper Landing Apartments in St. Paul. Gina Dingman, James McCaffrey and Julie Lux, from Colliers Turley Martin Tucker brokered this transaction.
